The vintage of 2021 gave low yields; the fruit was dense and the tannin structure strong and firm. The flavours of creme de cassis, dark cherry, ink, graphite are intense and the vibrant acidity give rise to a sour cherry taste. Flavours of figs, dates and nuts add more complexity. The finish is long, slightly bitter reminiscent blood orange zest.
