Tasting note by Panos Tzimas MSc DipWSET, July of 2025
Deep ruby with vivid purple reflections, Odyssey IV shows a precise and layered aromatic profile. The nose combines black cherry, blackberry, and dark plum with lifted violet and subtle herbal nuances. With aeration, further complexity emerges: dark ink, crushed graphite, and leather, while oak ageing contributes notes of cigar box, tobacco, clove, and gentle smokiness. On the palate, bright acidity provides freshness and definition, framing a concentrated core of dark fruit. The tannins are pronounced and structured, giving firmness and grip without excessive weight. The wine shows clear progression across the palate, from a vibrant attack to a focused mid-palate and a long, persistent finish marked by graphite, spice, and floral lift.
