Tasting note by Panos Tzimas MSc DipWSET, July of 2025
Deep ruby in appearance, Pleine Lune displays a precise and layered aromatic profile. The nose combines black cherry, blackberry, and dark plum with lifted violet and subtle herbal notes characteristic of Cabernet Franc. With aeration, further complexity emerges: dark ink, leather, and crushed graphite, while oak ageing contributes discreet notes of clove, tobacco box, and espresso. On the palate, vibrant acidity provides freshness and definition, supporting a finely textured structure. The tannins are firm yet polished, giving shape and tension to the palate without heaviness. The wine progresses clearly from attack to mid-palate and finish, concluding with a long, persistent aftertaste marked by graphite, spice, and floral lift.
